Maconomy will deliver an ERP solution to GroupM, a company owned by communications giant WPP. The deal includes a Maconomy Agency Solution for 280 users in Denmark.
Danish ERP supplier Maconomy has signed a deal with the Danish media group GroupM for the implementation of a Maconomy Agency Solution. Maconomy’s agency solution is an ERP system developed specifically for knowledge-intensive organisations to support the business processes at media agencies and other types of agencies. The solution will be hosted by WPP in London. The software is fully scalable to future growth and can be used across borders. GroupM expects that the ERP solution will be implemented around January 1, 2009.
“We have great expectations for our future collaboration with Maconomy and for the deliverables we have reached an agreement on. The future system is fully integrated with Reklamedata, GroupM’s current media system,” says CFO Allan Petersen, GroupM. “The ERP solution is part of a comprehensive strategy in the Nordic region to optimise financial control and internal processes in the GroupM agencies,” adds Allan Petersen.
The GroupM deal was finalised after GroupM had picked a number of ERP providers to demonstrate their products. GroupM chose Maconomy as its business partner after deciding that Maconomy’s ERP solution could effectively support GroupM’s business processes.
GroupM in Denmark is owned by the world’s largest communications group WPP and is the leading company within media investment management worldwide. GroupM consists of a total of 15 Danish agencies, including MindShare, MAXUS, MediaCom, Mediaedge:cia, Outrider and Kinetic. The primary purpose of GroupM is to optimise the services that WPP's media agencies deliver to their clients.
“The GroupM deal proves that our long-term relationship with WPP is alive and well. WPP knows that our Agency Solution supports their way of doing business, and we are thrilled that GroupM has chosen Maconomy as their ERP supplier,” says Country Manager Neil Davidson, Maconomy UK. “We have 20 years of expertise in best practices within Professional Services Organisations. Thanks to our keen industry focus we offer our clients a set of tools that allow them to optimise their operations and make their internal business processes future-proof,” concludes Neil Davidson.
